Leaving site

We have introduced a new one-way system for vehicles leaving the Family Car Park. This change is designed to prevent crossover traffic and improve overall flow on the track as vehicles leave the site.

We’ve made significant improvements to the exit route, including resurfacing, groundworks, and the removal of hedges and other obstructions to keep the way clear and accessible for all types of vehicles exiting on this route.

The route is similar in distance to the main exit and has been designed to allow for a steady, free flowing departure for all vehicles.

Please enjoy alcohol responsibly. Do not buy alcohol for persons under the age of 18, if you do you risk being ejected from the festival.

Sometimes you can find yourself in a situation that isn’t safe or that makes you feel uncomfortable. If you can’t access help from our Welfare tent, our bars operate Ask for Angela, where you can discreetly ask for help from a member of staff if this happens.

As with anywhere else in the UK, the possession or supply of drugs is illegal at Y Not Festival. We work with our security teams and Derbyshire Police to prevent drugs entering the event. All drugs are potentially dangerous; there are no harmless drugs

The only way to avoid risks is not to take drugs at all. This also goes for psychoactive substances (formerly known as ‘legal highs’) as well. If at the point of search anyone is found to be in possession of drugs, legal highs, pyros or weapons, our policy is that you will be refused entry and may be arrested.

Please don’t ruin your experience at Y Not before it gets started. Ahead of the festival we are encouraging everyone to read through the great advice shared by Festival Safe

We want everyone who attends Y Not to have the best weekend and experience possible, so please act sensibly. With that in mind, don’t leave drinks unattended or accept a drink, vape or anything else from someone you don’t know. If you or a friend feel unwell, please contact a member of staff right away or head to the Medics/ Welfare tent.

If you find yourself in a vulnerable situation or are feeling particularly vulnerable or alone and scared at our event then please rest assured that our welfare team is here to help. Our medical and welfare teams are located in the Village Green area of the site and are open 24 hrs a day. They are there to help and to lend a friendly, non judgemental ear to whatever ails you.

We all want to have a good time but know your limits. Alcohol and other drugs can impair your judgement; don’t feel pressured into doing anything you aren’t comfortable with. If you need to visit medics or welfare, be honest about what you have consumed so they know how best to help you.

Please remember to bring any prescription / regular medications you normally take, and do not stop taking them or change your dosage because you are coming to the festival, without consulting your doctor first. Sealed prescription medication will be allowed in at the gates.

Y Not is committed to upholding the best practice to address incidents of sexual assault or harassment on its festival site. We are working with the following organisations & charities to ensure Y Not is a safe space for all who attend:

  • The Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust

located in the Village green area offering a range of services such as: STI Testing, Sexual Health Advice, Emergency Contraception, Free Condoms.

  • Derby and Derbyshire Suicide Prevention Programme

The Derby and Derbyshire Suicide Prevention Programme is back at Y Not to break the silence and stigma around suicide. Visit the team at Y Not via the stall in the Welfare Area for a chat and information.

  • Mentell
Mentell offers safe, confidential spaces for men (18+) to talk, free from advice and judgement. Mentell provides free weekly support groups online and in-person. Visit the team at Y Not and help support men's mental health.

Find them in the main arena and Village Green or message on Instagram @1625_Outreach.

We have been working closely with the Derbyshire Police to ensure Y Not Festival will be an enjoyable and safe event for all. We hope you don’t need the police, but if you do, police officers will be on site during the festival, alongside security staff, and whilst we hope you won't need their assistance they will be there if you need support. We want you to leave Y Not with great memories, new friends, and all of your belongings.

Read the tips below from officers for staying safe at this year's event:

• Always keep valuable items with you in a secure bag or inside pockets.

• Campers are encouraged to put valuables in their sleeping bag with them when they go to bed.

• Stick with your friends – if you're with people you know and trust, the chances are you'll look out for each other. Festivals give you the opportunity to meet new friends but going off with people who you've just met may lead you into situations you don't want to be in.

• Moderate your alcohol consumption, if you overdo it you'll be less aware and less likely to spot dangers.

• Keep an eye on your drink and never leave it unattended.

• If you’re the designated driver for your journey home, remember that you could still be over the limit if you have too much to drink the night before you leave. So if you plan to hit the road the next day, stay sober the night before. No festival is worth losing your licence or your life over, and if you’re over the limit the next day, the risk of a collision is huge.

You can report a crime in person with the dedicated police team at The Village Green, where call handlers can take reports of any incidents there and then. This will be open from 10am-6pm on Thursday 31st July and from 9am-6pm during Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Should you need to report a crime outside of these hours, please contact Derbyshire police via the following channels:

Facebook - send a private message to the Derbyshire Constabulary Facebook page

Twitter - direct message the police contact centre via @DerPolContact

Website - there are several crime reporting tools on the Derbyshire Constabulary website or you can use the online contact form.

Phone – call us on 101

In an emergency, always call 999.

You can also anonymously contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111, or by visiting the Crimestoppers website.

Do not purchase tickets from any unofficial channel such as ticket touts operating outside the event and on social media, these tickets will NOT be valid and you will be refused entry.

If you can no longer make the event, you can register your ticket to be sold with our official partner Tixel. Visit the Y Not Tixel ticket page here. You can sign up to purchase an official resale ticket with our partner Tixel, who provide a safe and easy place for you to purchase a Y Not ticket from an existing customer.

Please protect your phones and belongings while at Y Not. Phone thieves are known to target large-scale music events. Keep your phone in a safe place such as a front pocket. Avoid back pockets or handbags that are easy to enter and arrange a location to meet your friends if you do lose your phone. Protect your phone by enabling a pin lock and write down all details including IMEI number and any tracker details (such as activating find my iPhone).

Please help us to keep yourselves and your property safe.

In the unfortunate event that you do lose your phone please report this to the campsite manager as soon as you can.

TOP TIP:

Write the phone number of a friend or family member with you at the festival, along with “If found please call this number” in your notes, screenshot it and save it as your phone’s lock screen. That way, if another festival goer or a member of staff finds your phone, they can call the number and arrange to get it returned.

If you lose anything at the Festival, please visit the Info Point, located In The Village Green, to log your details/lost item. Our team will be able to reunite you with your property if it has been handed in. Please note, found items will be kept for 2 weeks after the festival, following this all items that can be, will be given to local charities. Any lost phones not reunited at the end of the festival will be handed to Derbyshire Police. Please be alert and keep your belongings safe at all times.

You can report any lost property to us by using our online form which you can find HERE

Campsite Hubs are located in every campsite and serve as your go-to spot throughout the weekend in the campsites. These covered areas are perfect for grabbing a bite to eat, enjoying a coffee, or meeting up with friends, they’re the heart of the campsite community and a place to escape your tent.

They’re there to answer your questions, offer information, and help with anything you need during your stay at Y Not.
