Y NOT FESTIVAL ETHOS
What began as a house party in 2005 soon overflowed into a full-blown festival set in some of the most stunning countryside around. Years later, our ethos remains the same – enjoy incredible music, delicious food, carefree fun, and most importantly, look after each other, all in the heart of the beautiful Peak District.
Y Not is committed to creating a safe and inclusive festival for all to enjoy, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, age or ability. We are proud of our community, and the joy you bring to our home in Pikehall every year. Our aim is to ensure the ethos of Y Not continues to thrive for years to come and that’s why we are asking our festival goers to follow our mantra at all times.
LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER
Remember to go at your own speed, if you need a breather from the music or just need to take some time out you can visit our Welfare Tent and chat to our friendly team who are there to help at all times. Look out for yourselves and your friends.
RESPECT EACH OTHER
Join us in celebrating the fact that we are all different and have come together this weekend to enjoy our favourite bands. We take a zero tolerance approach to hate, discrimination or harassment. If anyone is found to be breaking this rule they will be asked to leave. If you are worried about the behaviour of any of your fellow festival goers please speak to a member of staff or our welfare team straight away.
LOOK AFTER OUR HOME
We’re proud to call the Peak District our home for the last 18 years. Now more than ever, it is our responsibility to protect the environment. Please put your litter in the bins provided, keep your campsite tidy and take your tent home!
GO AT YOUR OWN PACE
We all want to have a good time but know your limits. Alcohol and other drugs can impair your judgement; don’t feel pressured into doing anything you aren’t comfortable with. If you need to visit medics or welfare be honest about what you have consumed so they know how best to help you.
